Our firm currently represents a historic granite quarry with extraordinary profit potential, located within driving distance of Boston. Site originally commenced operations in 1849 but has not been in use since the latter part of that century. Granite from the quarry has been used in the construction of a number of notable buildings, including the old City Hall in Newark, NJ; the First Christ Church in Boston; & the NY State Capitol Building in Albany, NY. $1 Billion appraisal performed by a certified geologist based on deposits/reserves before discount to PDV; total volume estimated at approximately 450 million cubic feet. Deposit is comprised of muscovite-biotite granite of light, very bluish gray color & even-grained, fine texture, with feldspars & micas under ½”; no effervescence with muriatic acid test. Granite is ideally suited for use as gravestone, landscape stone, curbing, wall stone, & in general building use. The physical properties of the granite also exceed all ASTM requirements for dimension granite, minus absorption. Opening of over 750 ft by 200 ft by 50 ft deep, situated on approx 109 acres. Top sheets are approx 6 inches, increasing to approx 3 ft thickness by a 30 ft depth. In the past, the state has agreed to purchase residual stone dust for road & highway projects - estimates suggest $5 MM in stone to be crushed without the need for digging.
