Regarding the industry sales with regard to colorized film titles, it should be noted that in excess of $125 million at retail sold by Fox of colorized 1930's Shirley Temple titles, all on VHS.
The black & white home video of Fox's Miracle on 34th Street sold only 93,000 copies in 1992. In contrast, the colorized version sold 2,300,000 copies in 1993.
Colorized Wyatt Earp television special achieved first place for CBS in the July 2, 1995, 9-11pm prime time period.
Colorized The Longest Day motion picture was viewed by 70% of the TV audience in France in prime time.
The below four colorized Sherlock Holmes titles earned: $190,000 for one TV broadcast of two titles in 1989, and $191,000 for one TV broadcast of the two remaining titles in 1990.
