Salt Water Disposal Well
Status as of Nov-21-2008 at 06:00 PM: Active
Business Summary
This facility is located in the Barnett Shale about 25 miles west of Ft. Worth. From March 2006 to February 2007 this was an active saltwater disposal facility, disposing of saltwater in zones above 3000 ft. To increase the daily disposal volumes, The Company obtained a permit from the Railroad Commission to deepen this well to the Ellenberger formation at about 8,500 ft. The well is currently being completed as a disposal well in the Ellenberger at about 8,500 ft. and will soon be operational with a permit providing for a disposal volume of up to 15,000 barrels a day.
The land consists of 41 acres owned by the Company and includes a mobile home for the on-site operations manager, The site is fully equipped, containing holding tanks for water and skim oil and has two large electric triplex disposal pumps and a metal building for the electrical control system.
This facility is in the heart of the Barnett Shale and is extremely well positioned to receive water from the wells within the city of Ft.Worth where no disposal wells are allowed, and also from wells in Tarrant County that has very few disposal wells because of permitting limitations. Current disposal fees in the Barnett Shale are 70 to 76 cents per barrel and there is also a 0.25% oil cut for skim oil in this area.
