The collection company is approx 30-40 years old. The current owner bought the company 2 yrs ago and moved it to its current location. The The first year they made approx $14,000. The first 5 months of this year they made $17,000. The company has approx 250 customers and several thousand files. The company has a contract with TransUnion Credit Bureau to turn over debtors for reporting purposes. The business is totally computerized with all reporting sent electronically to the Credit Bureau. All the computers and files and customers go with the business. All accounts already reported also goes with the business.
A new buyer would have to be licensed by the State but could work under the current owner’s license until they received theirs. Receivables are generally %35 of the amount collected. This percentage can of course be negotiated. We do not market ourselves much at all and we do not buy debt. This could grow the company further. The company currently represent gas stations, restaurants, small manufacturers, etc… The company has a web site that brings in new customers but does not do any marketing to grow the business.
Owner is willing to finance the majority of the selling price.
