The new joint venture has already been approved by government officials and the venture will be in cooperation with established Beijing cable service firms. Signed agreements will allow this new venture to be the sole provider (monopoly) of digital television in the city.
This new venture will be based on a business model successfully implemented in another city in China's southeast region by the aforementioned cable TV/integrated-service provider.
